Norcross is a city in northern Georgia located in Gwinnett County. Norcross is the second oldest city in Gwinnett County. It’s named in honor of the former mayor of the City of Atlanta and good friend of city founder, Jonathan Norcross. The City was incorporated on October 26, 1870.

Many years ago, Norcross was known as “Atlanta's Favorite Summer Resort.” The City is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as there are many restored narrow brick buildings downtown. Many of the older homes in Norcross have also been preserved and you can find restored homes with the classic charm of the South, the big front porch.

Trees lining the street help to keep the city cool for those who choose to make take a walk and enjoy the sites. Did you know the first automobile produced in the South was named after Norcross? That is right it was the Nor-X invented by Edward Buchannan.

Schools in the area are provided by the Gwinnett County School system. Gwinnett County schools are award winning schools and some of the best to be found in the nation. While in Norcross be sure to visit the Norcross Baseball Hall Of Fame. Just a short drive away is Lake Lanier with almost 700 miles of shore line. Lake Lanier draws 7.5 million visitors each year. The lake offers water sports, horseback riding, hiking and biking trails. Also nearby is Atlanta.

In this metropolitan area you will find first class entertainment and shopping. For the sports lover there are six professional major league sports teams. Air travel is made possible through the Atlanta Airport, the home airport of Delta airlines. From this airport connections can be made to the rest of the world.
