Grayson Real Estate Information

Grayson is a small town with a population of 765 people that is located between Athens and Atlanta, Georgia. Grayson is on the opposite side of Stone Mountain from Atlanta. It is located in Gwinnett County, Georgia. All public schools in Gwinnett County are a part of the Gwinnett County Public School System.

On April 2, 2009 Gwinnett County Public Schools was named as one of five schools in the United States to be selected to compete for the 2009 Broad Prize for Urban Education. The winner of this prize will be awarded $1 Million for scholarships for its 2010 graduating class. The remaining four schools will receive 250,000 for scholarships. In addition to the normal high schools, there are three charter high schools operated by the by the school system that are open to qualifying students from anywhere in the county.

Between Grayson and Atlanta lies Stone Mountain. This state park attracts about 4 million visitors annually. At night there is a laser light show symbolizing the promise of a New South. In nearby Athens is the University of Georgia.

In Atlanta, there are all the amenities of any major city. Since 2009, the convention center area has been trying to become a trash free zone. Rather than send almost 1 million tons of food waste to the landfill to create more greenhouse gases, all food scraps are being composted, all used cooking oil is being converted to cooking oil, and plastic and glass are being recycled.

Atlanta is home to six professional sports teams. Travel to anywhere in the United States is available for Atlanta by car, bus or train. Worldwide travel is made possible by the Atlanta Airport, the busiest and best airport in America.
